Sue Brown

Hope Half Hour BLF

I'm fundraising to support millions affected by lung disease during the coronavirus crisis.

I’ve signed up to walk 30 minutes every day in January to support British Lung Foundation as this is one I thought I could do.

I fancied a challenge and also to reflect on appreciating my lung transplant which will soon be 8 years ago. It will be an added bonus if my lung function edges upwards as well!

You’re welcome to support the BLF charity fundraising if you wish.

Over 12 million people in the UK have a lung condition. There’s a new diagnosis every minute. I want to make a difference this New Year, so I’m fundraising for the British Lung Foundation –the only UK charity looking after everyone who struggles to breathe.

I’m taking on the Hope Half Hour for the BLF, walking 30 minutes every day this January.

Just £22 could allow someone to receive specialist support from a Respiratory Nurse. I'd be very grateful for any donations you could make!

The more people that know about the British Lung Foundation, the greater their impact, so please help get the word out by sharing my page with your friends and family

My Updates

Skies and birds

Friday 28th Jan
3 more days to go!
I’ve appreciated the varied skies and sometimes hearing the robin sing on my walks and have added some photos to my gallery below

Pruning then walking!

Tuesday 25th Jan
In between doing some winter pruning in my garden I’m achieving my daily walks alongside the horse paddock and I’m finishing each one with a little jog. Six more days to go in January for this BLF fundraiser!

20 days done, 11 to go!

Thursday 20th Jan
After today’s walk I added some photos showing the promise of Spring to my gallery at the bottom of my page

8th transplant anniversary

Monday 10th Jan
I am enjoying my 30 minute wintery walks each day and I slowly jog the last 10 meters.

Today is the 8th anniversary of my single donor gifted lung transplant.
It might be a little known fact but sometimes for medical reasons a single lung provides enough lung function to gift life to someone with end stage lung disease. I am forever grateful to my donor’s family and the NHS for making this possible.

Happy New Year!

Saturday 1st Jan
I enjoyed my 1st 1/2 hour walk today supporting British Lung Foundation.
I appreciated the small things in life along the way with a cool light wind blowing through my hair and some wintery flowering gems (see photos below).
